For several days, we have been talking about how to ask the Father to open eyes so that they can see Truth. As we go into the weekend, let’s stop talking about prayer and actually practice it.
Below are some verses that you can pray through today. I’ll include the passages and you follow these steps to pray them yourself.
- As you begin, pray a simple prayer asking the Father to direct your thoughts toward a specific person(s) for each verse.
- Read the first verse. Pause and then allow the Father to match a name(s) to that verse.
- Reread the first verse, this time with the intent to pray the verse for this person(s).
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have prayed through all the verses.
- Because the Word is alive, you may want to revisit these verses throughout the weekend, asking the Father if He wishes you to continue using the same name or a different name as you pray.
I’ll do the first one for you to get started:
“The secrets of his heart are disclosed and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.” (1 Corinthians 14:25)
Father, I pray that You would disclose the secrets of __________’s heart, so that (he/she) would fall on their face to worship You. You are definitely working and I ask that they will have the clarity to see You.
(Got the picture? If not, you are welcome to ask questions in the comment section below or send me an email. Let’s pray…)
“And the pride of man will be humbled, and the loftiness of men will be abased, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, but the idols will completely vanish.” (Isaiah 2:17-18)
“…always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.” (2 Timothy 3:7)
“To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of satan to God, in order that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:18)
“But all things become visible when they are exposed by the Light, for everything that becomes visible is Light.” “Then Jesus again spoke to them saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’” “While I am in the world, (Jesus said), I am the Light of the world.” “(Now) You are the light of the world (Jesus said to his followers).” (Ephesians 5:13; John 8:12; John 9:5; Matthew 5:14)
“And the Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correct those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the Truth and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:24-26)
“…receive the love of the Truth so as to be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10)
