So are you stressed out yet?
As much as we love having a holiday, it sometimes becomes a time of anxiety, huh?
Too much preparation, too little time to get it done, too many people gathering together, too little patience.
I began being “in charge” of the full fixin’s at age 28 and have hosted Thanksgiving at our home almost every one since. (And no, I’m not going to discuss with you how many that is….)
We’ve had anywhere from four guests to one hundred and forty-seven.
This year as I look around the table, I’ll be remembering these two verses:
“Each person is given something to do that shows who God is” (1 Corinthians 12:7 The Message)
“Who are you to judge your (Thanksgiving guest)? (Mostly James 4:12 – parenthesis obviously mine)
As a hand reaches for the turkey…
Can you see it as God’s hand?
As a voice yells for a quarterback….
Can you hear it as God’s voice?
As a hand neglects to help you with the dishes….
Can you recognize them as God’s hands?
I’m thankful for you today, dear reader. More than you know.
You keep me pressing into the Lord ‘cause I know you’ll be coming back to hear what He said.
You are welcome around my table and I hope the Father grants us that opportunity one day.
You are prayed for. I’m praying that you will be able to see everyone in the house today from God’s perspective.
May you give out of the Abundant Life that you have been given.
