Praying on the Preparation of Peace

Holy Father,

Praise You for being my God of Peace (Hebrews 13:20).  Thank You for giving me peace from anxiety, knowing that I can bring every worry to You in prayer.  Thank You that Your Peace guards my heart and mind every time I offer my concern to You (Philippians 4:6-7).  Draw me after You that we may run together (Song of Solomon 1:3).

I stand in awe, realizing that the final reality of Your Truth transforms my past.  You not only make me new, but encourage me to actually forget the things that are past (2 Corinthians 5:17; Isaiah 43:18).  In this way, I stand clean before You, able to live today in the very righteousness of Your Son (2 Corinthians 5:21).  Now, fit me with Your peace, so that I can walk in the peaceful good works that You have already prepared for my future (Ephesians 2:10).

You desire that I be ready – no matter if I’m serving You or Your children (Luke 12:37).  Remind me to daily check my attitude of readiness (Luke 12:35).  Open my eyes to see the areas in my commitment that are wearing thin and need repair.  Give me patience to wait on You, O Master Cobbler, so that I will have the strength to walk, run, and sometimes to even fly (Isaiah 40:31).   In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
