Practice the Wait

Talking about waiting before Him is okay. But maybe we should just put it into practice.

Push aside some time to be still before the Lord today.

Give Him your thoughts and emotions, then slowly allow the words below to wash over you. Don’t rush the time, but listen to how He speaks.

May the Father speak directly to you today.

“The simple requirement is that you must learn to pray from your heart and not your head.”  – Jeanne Guyon

“For Thy salvation I wait, O LORD”. Gen 49:18

“My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.” Ps 62:1-2

“Just be quiet, sink down into nothingness, and let the Holy Spirit pray in you.  The Holy Spirit will do it.  The Father has given you His Spirit for this reason; He will pray in you.  Again, when you have prayed, be quiet a little, and just sit still until you fully believe that the Holy Spirit is doing His work in you even now.  The Spirit is given to you to be your teacher and helper in prayer.”  – Andrew Murray

“There they cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil men.

“Surely God will not listen to an empty cry, nor will the Almighty regard it.

“How much less when you say you do not behold Him, The case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!”Job 35:12-14

“A law of the spiritual life is that every act of trust makes the next act less difficult” – Hannah W. Smith

“Indeed, none of those who wait for Thee will be ashamed; those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.  Make me know Thy ways, O LORD; Teach me Thy paths.  Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; For Thee I wait all the day”.Ps 25:3-5

“Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for Thee.” Ps 25:21

“It is His will that every prayer meeting should be a power house experience – when every person present should be in vital contact with God’s thought and purposes and power, and be so controlled by the Holy Spirit (Who is the Holy Thinker) that he can receive God’s gracious thoughts into his mind and then transmit them to others (through prayer).” – Hannah Hurnard

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. 14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD.”Ps 27:13-14

“When you come to the Lord, gradually learn to have a quiet mind before Him.  One of the most important things you can do is cease from any self-effort.”  -Jeanne Guyon
