Righteousness

My dear child,

I think there has been a misunderstanding.

I’ve heard your prayers and they sound pious enough. You pray for patience, kindness, love. I agree those are good things.

But, there is a shade of spiritual insight that you have missed. I do not give out “things”. I always and only give out the Person of my Son. He is before all things and first place in every thing (Colossians 1:17-18). Only in Him, I freely give you all things (Romans 8:32).

You already understand that Christ is your righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). I am so proud of you for accepting that revelation straight from My Heart. Yet, hear then the fulness of that Truth: righteousness is no longer a thing that you ask for – righteousness is already yours in the Person of My Son.

You are obsessed with what you have done to offend Me. “What can it be?” or “What have I forgotten to do,” you moan. You worry that your prayers may not have been sincere enough or that you may not have read My Word enough. You are nitpicking about a thing – an incident – an experience.

Move away from such infinitesimal examination. Take your eye off the microscopic lens. Lean back and zoom out. Your life is My Life (Colossians 3:4). I am far larger than 15 minutes of patience or 10 minutes of reading.

I am a Person. I am not an item on your agenda. “All things are yours” through Me (1 Corinthians 3:22). Do you see the difference, My child?

I, too, am your sanctification (1 Corinthians 1:30). Your consecration. Your devotion. Your rigorous striving. I am all that is spiritual within you. These are not found in your earnest feelings or in your zealous deeds. No, My precious, no. Release the tit-for-tat. Let Me maintain your spirituality.

Don’t seek kindness. Seek Me. Don’t seek gentleness. Seek Me. Stop focusing on your need to bear fruit. Instead, focus on Me. “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6). You cannot bear fruit. Fruit is always “of the Spirit” – sourced out of Me. I repeat: every resource you need is always found in Me.

So what will it be? Will you continue in asking for the piece meal or will you start afresh by trusting Me as the Great “I (already) Am” (Exodus 3:14)? Praise Me for Who I am and faith will push My resources into your every need. You can do all things through Me. I am your Strength (Philippians 4:13).

I love you, so.
