He Looks at You While You Pray

“May I speak to your supervisor, please?”

There had been a problem with my recent order, and I was having some difficulty removing the mix-up of the phone. As I awaited a manager, I intentionally calmed myself. This could take some time.

“Mrs. Persall? I’m sorry for the difficulty,” came the reply. Then, with a few questions asked, the situation was settled in my favor.

“Thank you,” I said. “And may I note your name in case of further difficulty?”

“There will be no further problem, Mrs. Persall. I’m the owner, and I’ll see to that.”

Don’t you love to communicate with the guy in charge? And to think that you have this opportunity every day with the “heir of all things” (Hebrews 1:2). No longer must you go through a middleman or a spiritual receptionist. Now, God Himself speaks to you — personally.

And not only does God speak through His Son, but He does so while looking directly and specifically at you. His eye is upon you as you voice your requests. Believe in His Presence. Know when to stop speaking and just listen intently for His reply.

Take a deep breath and rest in His Presence right now. He is looking your way, you know.
