Future and Final Reality

What does my future hold? Last year, Mark and I had two granddaughters, I expanded my freelance writing, and I began praying with a group of ladies that has rocked my world. What will this year hold?

Even as I talk about my future plans, I know very well that “(I) do not know what (my) life will be like tomorrow.”

I realize that what a person says about their future reveals what they think about God

Ever think about that?

Where do our purposes lie? I mean really?

Do we really want what God wants? Or do we just say that?

“Instead, you ought to say,

‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and also do this or that'” (James 4:15).

Word by literal Greek word, this verse basically looks like this:

Instead ofthissayyou – ‘in case, if – “my Decider”, the Master Who makes my decisionsintends, purposesindeedlive, breathe, active with vital powerindeedto do, to execute a thing, to performthis thing’”

The person who truly lives like this, knows that her power sources within a Higher Authority

No matter what the future holds, she has already settled who will be calling the shots.

Can you imagine how free we would be if we really lived that way?

When you leave the decision-making to the One with the Power, you’ll can’t help but make right choices.

On top of that, you’ll also have the energy to accomplish the decision.

So when you ask me what’s next, I’m going to keep my eye on the final reality rather than my own.

It’s a lot safer way to live.

Whadda you think?
