God’s voice does speak to us. Let’s lay our lives over His Truth and absorb Him.

Ready?

Go to 1 Corinthians 2:12. I’ll look up the Greek for you and all you have to do it put it into your own words. I’m not saying that you are “re-writing” the Word of God. We are not to add to or detract from His Logos.

But, I am asking that you put these truths into your own heart words – in a way that will allow Truth to wash over you all day. Truth lasts much longer than words.

So here we go: “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

“have received” – to get, gain, obtain; in the aorist tense meaning this verb is considered without regard for past, present or future time.

“spirit” – (Greek: pneuma) – the third person of God, possessed of the power of knowing, deciding and acting; used in other places as a gentle blast of air.

“world” – (Greek: kosmos) – the world, the universe, the earth

“which is of” – (Greek: ek) – preposition denoting emission out of; something with which there is a close connection

“know” – (Greek: eido) – to see with the eyes; to know, understand, perceive; perfect tense denoting a once for all action; subjunctive mood meaning action may or may not occur, depending on circumstances.

“freely given” – (Greek: charizomai) – to give graciously, give freely; in the aorist tense meaning this verb is considered without regard for past, present or future time; participle mood reflecting the “ing” or “ed” being added to the word.

Wasai. Did you get it?

Go ahead. Place in the comment section your truth mediation.

Here is mine:

“So as believers – whether in the past, present and future – our gift is not just some flighty breath of air made up of worldly stuff. No, in fact, we have received the very Living Person that emits out of the Everlasting God. Although He has given us Himself once and for all and His gift is lavishly poured out, He has also given us the choice of whether or not we will use our spiritual eyes to truly understand Him.”

We have a choice. Will we or won’t we open our spiritual eyes to perceive our connection with the heavenlies?

I’m praying for you today that you will say “Yes” to knowing Him. Pray that for me as well. It’s a daily choice.
