Mark and I have been helping his 82-year-old dad some as he prepares to move from the home where he has lived for almost 50 years. I’ve been clinging onto these verses for my strength, and turning each one into a prayer. Maybe you need to claim these promises as well.

“Not by night, not by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts” (Zechariah 4:6 LB).

“The God of Israel gives strength and might power to His people” (Psalm 68.35 LB).

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8 NASB).

“Turst in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:4 LB).

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His Name” (John 1:12 NASB).

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faith” (Isaiah 40:31 KJV).

“And He said unto me, ‘My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in weakness'” (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV).

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NASB).

“For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants” (Philippians 2:13 LB).

“(Praying) that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16 KJV).

“I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NASB).

“We are praying, too, that you will be filled with His mighty, glorious strength so that you can keep going no matter what happens -always full of the joy of the Lord” (Colossians 1:11 LB).

Just wanted to let you know that I’m including you as I ask for strength. Let me know if you have a specific request.

                                                 Grace and peace,   Kandy

I hate conflict

I’m one of those wimpy people that would rather get the raw end of the deal than have to confront someone about the discrepancy.

My husband, on the other hand, is a natural born problem-solver.

“You can’t achieve harmony without facing some hostility.”

Yeah, yeah. I get the point. But it doesn’t make me want to tackle the challenge any more.

But when it comes to spiritual warfare, we really have no choice.

John White author of “The Fight” says, “If you are serious about Christ being your Lord and God, you can expect opposition.“

And student Timothy heard the same message from his mentor Paul, “All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12).

I hear this, but yet, cower underneath my quilt of complacency, hoping that the enemy won’t notice my bulge.

Maybe a big part of the problem is not realizing the kind of power that I have.

Listen to my audio illustration of a great surge of power:

“The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle, The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came…Anticipate your battles; faith them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory.”  – R.A. Torrey

Can you faithe the might of the Father to be your strength?

Or will your lack of faith default another victory to the evil one?

“Father, be my strength.”

Receive the strong power that He is waiting to surge through you.
