Mark’s BBQ Sauce

My husband, Mark, has finally perfected the most delectable BBQ sauce ever. Maybe it’s because he makes being in the kitchen so much fun. (Note: this sauce has a kick, so decrease the red pepper and tabasco if you like a milder sauce).

16 oz. tomato sauce

2 cups catsup

1 cup Worcestershire sauce

½ cup butter

2 Tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

2 Tablespoons paprika

1 Tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon red pepper

1 cup spicy honey mustard

2 cups red wine vinegar

¼ cup liquid smoke (we use mesquite)

¼ cup tabasco sauce

¼ cup brown sugar

2 Tablespoons seasoned salt

¼ teaspoon chili powder

¼ teaspoon black pepper

 

Combine ingredients in a 2 qt. saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. 

 

Yield: ½ gallon
