Pizza Dough

1 ¼ cups water
1 pkg. yeast (1 Tablespoon)
¼ cup oil
3 ½ cups bread flour
½ teaspoon salt

 

Heat water in microwave 45 seconds. Add yeast and let sit 5 minutes. Add oil and blend. Mix rest of ingredients. May either use immediately or let rise about 45 minutes for fluffier dough. Add pizza toppings and bake at 400˚ for 20 minutes. Yield: 2 pizza crusts. (May freeze one of the topped pizzas before baking if desired – cover tightly with foil for freezing.)

 

We love to do grilled pizza for parties. When guests arrive, have toppings available in individual bowls. Allow ¼ of recipe below for each person. Allow them a workspace to “roll-out” their own pizza onto parchment paper. Well-oil bottom of individual pizza and grill dough on hot grill for 2-3 minutes. Bring inside. Oil uncooked side of pizza. Have guests put toppings on grilled side of pizza and return to grill – three to five minutes more – until done through and ingredients are hot and melted. Note: According to grill size, you may not be able to cook everyone’s pizza at the same time. Plan accordingly.
