What Kind of Salvation Do You Have?

There is no scripture that supports only a limited and partial deliverance.  Yet, many Christians unfortunately are satisfied with just that.” Hannah Whitall Smith

Just exactly what kind of salvation do you have?

Does your relationship with God grant you daily peace or does it most often cause you more stress

Does your dependance upon Him remain constant or does it vary with the winds of the times?

You may be like me.  Most of the time, we’re able to keep our emotions and thoughts together so that we say the appropriate thing at the appropriate time.

Yet, every once in a while, a situation arises in which the very worst erupts from inside us.

Sound familiar?

Any old thought patterns or unloving attitudes that we allow to simmer have a tendency to surprise us with the force of a geyser.

Surely this can’t be –

  • the power that works mightily within me (Colossians 1:29)
  • the abundant life (John 10:10)
  • the filling of the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:19)

Yet, how often do we go along day by day with our spiritual life on low

I sometimes think that we live more by the grit of our teeth rather than the power that He promises.

We are promised:

        – A Rescue from the hand of our enemies, that we might serve Him without fear (Luke 1:74).  Are we living without fear?

        – That we’ve been chosen from the beginning for salvation through sanctification (2 Thessalonians 2:13).  Are we living a sanctified life?

        – that He came to take away sins (1 John 3:5).  Are we experiencing daily deliverance from our sin patterns?

        – that He appeared to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).  Are we watching those works gradually being destroyed within us?

This is what I am hungry for – the full meal deal.

How about you?

Can we suppose that the holy God who hates sin in the sinner is willing to tolerate it in the Christian?” – Hannah Whitall Smith
